Monday.com vs. Opus

We will refer to Monday.com as M.c from now on. Everything goes on M.c FIRST - before going onto Opus. We do this for many reasons:

  1. We never want to depend solely on a CRM because Opus has crashed in the past for entire days at a time due to system errors, collapsed servers, etc.

  2. M.c shows transitions such as new potential students taking over a spot that a current student is leaving. On Opus - you have to scroll through future dates to see transition.

  3. It is easier on M.c to transition siblings with multiple teachers.

  4. It is easier to map out potential teacher-switching scenarios without making permanent changes on Opus. An example of this if teacher Bill is leaving in May and slowly decreasing his teaching hours in stages since he would like to free up some of his days to pack and get ready for the move. He plans to drop from 5 teaching days down to 3 days in March, and then down to 2 days of teaching in April. In this complicated situation we will need to consider many factors. Should we hire another full-time teacher? Will the current staff be able to absorb his students? If so, should we just hire a part-time teacher? We need to take into consideration students of other teachers who may be dropping around that time since we don’t want to be overstaffed. This is an example of using M.c to effectively assess the situation without creating chaos on Opus.
