The first thing to do is set up your Student Portal 👍


STUDENT PORTAL (Video Tutorial below)

All of our students and teachers communicate via the Student Portal. You can cancel lessons, book makeups, update payment info, communicate with teachers, see invoices and more. To access the portal go to www.RoosStudios.com > select “Login” from the menu bar and use the email you have on file with us to create a password.

GMAIL USERS - If you have gmail, select the RED button labeled “Login With Google”.

NON-GMAIL USERS - If you have yahoo, hotmail or anything besides gmail - select “Get a Login Link by Email” Please do not create a new account since we have already created an account for you. Please sign in only with the email we have for you on file (please ask us if you don’t remember).

Did you know that you can add the portal to your home screen? Have the portal up, go to the bottom of the menu bar, select the box with the “up” arrow, then select “Add To Home Screen” (located right below“Add to Bookmark” and “Add to Favorites”).

COMMUNICATION WITH TEACHERS

Your teacher will send you feedback, assignments and teaching video clips through the Client Comments section. Please do not send any scheduling-related communication here as our Admin Staff manages our teachers schedules. Please text (949)328-1131 for anything schedule-related or directly cancel/reschedule your lessons on the portal. Teachers are instructed not to give out their personal cell phone numbers, social media accounts, emails, etc. so that all communication is in one place. This way, if your Teacher is out sick - the other Teacher who is covering your lessons will be able to access your information. All substituting Teachers will also be able to access your portal to view past assignments and will be able to send your assignments and music as well.

CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULES & MAKEUPS

We enforce a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. This is due to the fact that we compensate our Teachers for any lessons cancelled in less than 24 hours, and we do not want to dock their pay. If you can’t make it to a lesson last minute - you can always Zoom the lesson since the option to Zoom button will appear 15 minutes before the lesson start time.

If you cancel a lesson out of the late cancellation window - a lesson credit will be posted to your account as a “Makeup”. You can self-book a makeup through the portal 7 days out. So if today is Friday, and you are trying to book a makeup lesson, you will only be able to book a time between Friday to Friday.

If you miss a lesson within the 24 hour window, you have the option to hop onto Zoom. If you are unable to Zoom, your Teacher will send you a mini-lesson via the Client Comments Section. Please send a comment directly to your Teacher via the portal before the lesson start time if you plan to hop onto Zoom.

STUDIO BREAKS

The current Student Calendar is always available on www.RoosStudios.com ~ under “Calendar” in the menu bar. All Studio breaks are reflected on the Student Portal and there will be no lesson listed on the days the studio is closed.

TEACHER ROOMS

Every lesson has a room assignment. To make sure that Teachers and Students aren’t looking for each other around the studio, Teachers have been instructed to wait in their teaching rooms for you. Please go directly to your Teacher’s room right before the start of the lesson, and they will open their doors at your lesson start time to welcome you in!

 

ZOOM

15 minutes prior to a lesson - the option to Zoom will automatically appear as a button next to your lesson time on the scheduling portal. You will have the option to zoom by clicking on the “Zoom” button on your scheduling portal. Please send your teacher a message through the portal before the lessons so that your Teacher will know to hop onto Zoom. If you are having problems with connectivity - please text the front desk at (949)328-1131 for assistance.
